Championship fever sets in

Championship fever has set in at the Iveagh Grounds this week as our AFL6 team get ready for the Junior B championship final next Sunday.

The lads have been flying this year but have a number of injury worries coming in to this game and will have to test the strength of the panel with Alan McGreal in Canada and the talismanic James Ruane sporting what can only be described as surgical scaffolding sticking out of his thumb.

However the lads have shown great resolve this year following a number of difficult years and are determined to climb up the ranks again.

Younger players like Aaron Byrne, Sean Wilton and Ashley Lenihan have blended brilliantly with the experienced heads such as Barry Darcy, Eugene Donnelly and Ross Mulvaney and some new Kerry talent from Gavin Beasley.

Manager Lar Quinn has some difficult decisions to make for his first 15 in what is sure to be a cracking encounter.

The club are organising a supporters bus to the Championship final next Sunday. The bus will leave Iveagh Grounds at 1:15. Cost is €4/head or €10/family. Please let Eoin Darcy (086 8286543) know if you want to travel on it so that he can gauge numbers
