Gaelic for Girls

Since the start of our Ladies Team 4 years ago, the Gaels have progressed rapidly to being real contenders in the League and Championship in their division.

Having won the Junior E Championship in 2009 (a really proud moment for the Gaels) and performed well in division 7, they moved up in 2010 and are proving that once again, they can face the challenges of both league (division 6) and championship (Junior D), as they play once again in the Championship Final!

The Ladies’success has encouraged our U13s to keep trying, and sure enough the U13s had their first win of the league earlier on this year. The Gaels also launched an U9s girls team in May 2010, giving us a firm base for further development.

The highlight of our participation in Clogher Road Sports Centre’s Sports Day this summer, showcasing Gaelic for Girls, was meeting Denise Masterson, Sinead Aherne and Sorcha Furlong of the Dublin Ladies Football Team.
